Since the fall of 2020, Jan-Hendrik Passoth holds the chair of sociology of technology at the faculty of social and cultural sciences and the European New School of Digital Studies at the European University Viadrina, Frankfurt/Oder. He was previously head of the Digital/Media/Lab, Department of Science, Technology, Society, School of Social Sciences and Technology, Technical University of Munich, where he and his team have been exploring the digital transformation of our lives, working environments and institutions. He writes about the social and cultural role of software, data and algorithms.
The lecture is organized in the context of the Research Specialization ‘Digital Technology in Society’ of the European Master’s Programme on
Society, Science and Technology (ESST).
